The destabilising January transfer saga is not new to West Ham but club captain Mark Noble is convinced Marko Arnautovic’s prospective move to China will not have the same divisive impact that Dimitri Payet had two years ago.

Arnautovic is the subject of a £35million bid from a Chinese club, believed to be Shanghai SIPG, and his agent and brother has urged the Hammers to sell.

West Ham have insisted that they are not prepared to cash in on Arnautovic.

“It’s a completely different set of circumstances.

While Arnautovic remains a West Ham player, though, Noble is convinced the Austrian will give his all for the club.

When Payet was told he would not be sold he effectively went on strike to force West Ham’s hand, training with the youth team and intimating that he would not be prepared to play for the first team.

He’s a West Ham player for now and I think he showed how much this club means to him today.” Keep up to date with the latest news, features and exclusives from football.london via the free football.london app for iPhone and Android .
