West Ham transfer news: Manuel Pellegrini hints at Marko Arnautovic exit after Arsenal win

Arnautovic is reportedly the subject of a £35m bid from an unnamed Chinese Super League club.

The former Stoke man has been one of the Irons’ most important players since he joined in 2017.

He’s also scored 18 goals in 47 Premier League games for the London club, which is just four less than he scored in his entire stint at Stoke.

And in the aftermath of West Ham’s 1-0 victory over Arsenal  on Saturday, Pellegrini spoke about the situation at hand.

"We'll see what happens in the next days," Pellegrini told Sky Sports.

"It's an issue that the club must see what is the best for him, for the player, for the club, for everyone.

"I hope he will take the best decision for everyone.

"I have been in these situations a lot of times. I have been a manager for about 30 years.”

Arnautovic’s brother, who also acts as his agent, released a statement earlier this week detailing the Austrian’s desire to make the move.

A statement from Danijel Arnautovic read: "West Ham bought Marko for peanuts. They paid £20m for him, which is nothing in the current market.

"They bought him to keep them in the Premier League last season and he did that. He took every award at the club; best player, signing of the season and the players' award.

"Now West Ham have a fantastic offer. It is close to double what they paid for him. He wants to go to a new market and challenge for titles."

Pellegrini also noted that there was nothing set in stone just yet, regarding the potential transfer.

"Big teams want to have the best players but I think we must remain calm about the situation,” he added.

"There is nothing 100 per cent sure so we will see in the next days how it develops."
