West Ham have announced their plans regarding ticketing for the final five home games of the season, which are highly likely to be played behind closed doors amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Hammers sent details to all season ticket holders on Wednesday and also released a statement on their website with the latest update.

The club is offering the chance to have the remaining five games taken off the price of a 2020/21 season ticket pro rata, or to have a full refund. With it very much unknown if next season will be played in front of fans yet, it’s an interesting take on a solution.

Football.London understands that if you do take up the option of a full refund then it will not mean you lose priority when applying for a 2020/21 season ticket if you choose to do so.

The prices for a 2020/21 season ticket are likely to be frozen though it is based on the caveat that the Hammers remain a Premier League team next season and don’t drop down to the Championship.

Additionally, Club Cash balances will be extended to 31 July 2021 which means fans can put that towards a season ticket for next season if they so wish.

If you have bought a single ticket for a single match then that will also be credited back to you to use to buy a ticket for next season providing the matches are in front of fans still. If not, you can get a full refund for the price of your ticket.

The club will also be releasing an FAQ imminently for those who have further questions about the season ticket crediting and refunds.

All offers will apply to away season ticket holders as well.

The Hammers said in a statement: As soon as it is confirmed by the Premier League that the remaining fixtures are to be played without supporters present, the Club will again personally contact fans by email regarding the process for credits and refunds to be administered when our Ticket Office and Club London account team will be on hand to personally answer any questions supporters may have following the receipt of their communications.”

The Hammers are due to face Wolves, Chelsea, Burnley, Watford and Aston Villa at London Stadium when the season eventually resumes.
