West Ham have been linked with a move for French striker Serhou Guirassy and his current club’s owners has admitted the player will be sold for the right price.

Guirassy had netted nine times in 24 Ligue 1 games for Amiens this season before their season was curtailed by the Covid-19 pandemic and then brought to a complete close, with PSG declared champions.

Amiens finished second bottom of the table this season and were relegated Ligue 2 and they will now be forced to sell their prized asset this summer, having received plenty of offers for the player in January.

Now, Amiens President Bernard Joannin has revealed to Get French Football News that West Ham were ones who expressed an interest in January in the striker as they looked to bolster their ranks in the final third.

"I’ll reply to you very precisely” Joannin said.

“In January we agreed terms with an English club and it is Serhou Guirassy – who is an exceptional character, with great values, he’s fantastic – he said to me “listen president, I want to stay at Amiens as I want to help my friends to survive this year.”

“So he stayed, he turned down a very lucrative contract with an English club. There are several English clubs that want him, like West Ham who are very clear on that. There are other clubs, including offers from other French clubs.

“And if people make an offer at the right price I will allow Serhou to leave.”

That was thought to be around £15million in January but that price may well have dropped following Amiens' relegation to Ligue 2.

Arsenal have also been linked with a switch for the 24-year-old frontman this summer. The Gunners fofrmer manager Arsene Wenger was apparently a big fan and wanted to sign Guirassy when he was at Auxerre but no deal materialised and the striker headed to German side Cologne instead.
