According to El Periodico Mediterraneo though, Villareal striker Karl Toko Ekambi is very much on the market and his agent has offered both West Ham and Newcastle United his services.

Do you think West Ham will sign a striker this month?

If I was to predict the future, I’m not confident West Ham will make another pricey striker signing and Villareal’s Ekambi valuation is likely to put the club off a move.

West Ham United may have used the January transfer window to solve their goalkeeper problems with the return of Darren Randolph, but Sebastien Haller is still crying for support upfront.

They claim the 27-year-old wants to leave the La Liga club before the deadline, however, Villareal don’t want to lose him and have set their valuation at €24.5million.

With just over two weeks left of the transfer window, I think the Hammers must try and sign another frontman but only if it’s the right man, which can be difficult to find midway through the season.

If Haller had quality alongside him upfront I’m confident he’d rediscover the prolific form that earnt him the club-record £45million transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer.
