West Ham United have completed their fifth signing of the summer, completing the signing of German defender Katharina Baunach.

Baunach, who will wear the number 11 shirt told the club?s website: ?I?m really excited to join West Ham United, this is a new experience for me and I?m really glad to get the opportunity to be here and play for this amazing club.



It?s a new challenge that I?m ready for, and I?m so happy to be here.? Women?s head coach Matt Beard was equally delighted to welcome the German to the club, he said: ?I?m delighted to welcome Katharina to West Ham United.



I?m looking forward to working with Katharina throughout the season.? Baunach and her fellow new signings will be hoping to make their Super League debuts when West Ham take on Arsenal in the season opener.

The move to Wolfsburg followed with back to back double winning campaigns, winning the league and DFB Cup double in her two seasons with the club.

Also a German international, Baunach had international success with the Germany U17s and U19s, winning the Nordic Cup and European Championship respectively, before making her full internation debut in the 2009 Algarve Cup.
