West Ham fans will have to travel yet again on Boxing Day for the fourth season on the spin since they moved to London Stadium but at least this season they won't have to go far.

Hammers co-chairman Karren Brady said last July West Ham supposedly being banned from playing Boxing Day games at the London Stadium is a "myth" thanks to them being in close proximity to Westfield Shopping Centre on its biggest shopping day of the year.

The minutes from the meeting  held at the London Stadium state: "KB (Karren Brady) stated that the idea West Ham cannot play home games on Boxing Day as a myth."

Speaking at a West Ham Supporters Advisory Board meeting on July 12, Brady said that was a "myth", implying that the club could play fixtures in the capital on Boxing Day in the future.

At least this time it's not too arduous a journey from east to south east London the day after Christmas Day when we might all be a bit hungover.

However, it does call into question why the Hammers are away once again on Boxing Day and they have yet to play the traditional festive fixture at home since they moved to London Stadium ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.
