However, the West Ham manager might want to keep an eye on the contract situations of some his first team squad as a number of them are approaching the end of their current deals.

Manuel Pellegrini certainly won't be looking ahead to the end of the 2019/20 season yet as the current campaign hasn't even finished and he's still got next season to plan for.

How much could West Ham fetch if they sold him on?

The manager himself penned a three-year contract to take over in east London from David Moyes and will have only one year left on his deal at the end of the next season.

The Scotland international will be 32 when his contract expires in May next 2020.

The emergence of Declan Rice means the need to extend Sanchez's contract won't be a priority and with the likes of Conor Coventry coming through from the U23s and the Hammers likely to sign a midfielder at some stage before the end of next season, whether they extend Sanchez's contract is certainly up for debate.

Adrian, Samir Nasri, Pablo Zabaleta and Andy Carroll are out of contract at the end of the current campaign and two of the four are widely expected to leave.
