Robert Snodgrass has received a £30,000 fine for misconduct - for using 'improper' language towards a doping official.

West Ham's Scottish winger has also been given a one-match ban after he was deemed guilty by an Independent Regulatory Commission, after he appealed against the original decision.

"A misconduct charge against Robert Snodgrass has been found proven by an Independent Regulatory Commission," read an FA statement.

"It was alleged that his language and/or behaviour towards UK Anti-Doping officials, who were visiting West Ham United?s training ground on 06 February 2019, was abusive and/or insulting and/or improper."

Snodgrass was originally charged by the FA on March 4 with a breach of Rule E3(1), which relates to standard penalty guidelines for abusive or insulting language.

A fortnight later he requested a personal hearing after protesting his innocence - which, unsurprisingly perhaps, was ignored by the FA, who are now considerably wealthier as a result.
