West Ham are sitting solidly in eighth place in the Premier League after eight games this season with just two defeats to their name so far which have book-ended their campaign so far.

They lost their first game of the season against Man City, a 5-0 thumping no less, then were defeated in their previous outing which was a deflating 2-1 reverse to Crystal Palace at London Stadium.

There have been plenty of plus points however, the beating of Manchester United in Stratford one of them, also the performance in the 2-0 win over Norwich City which was their best display of the season.

Some players are performing well as the Hammers chase a European place, while others haven't quite been at the races so far.

The start of this season pretty much sums up the DR Congo defender's entire Hammers career having signed for the club in 2017.

Masuaku had ousted Aaron Cresswell, was harshly sent off at Aston Villa, made a big error in the Caraba Cup calamity at Oxford, and Cresswell has scored twice in the league in place of Masuaku.

His sub total of minutes over the last four Premier League matches is the grand total of one.
