The midfielder, who joined West Ham last month following an 18-month Uefa Anti-Doping ban, made his Premier League debut for the club against former side Arsenal, starting and again impressing for the 70 minutes he played.

Pellegrini has placed an enormous amount of faith in the midfielder who starred in his title winning Manchester City side and, having proved he can still mix it in the Premier League, Nasri is focused on repaying that trust.

I wanted to be back in the Premier League and be doing what I do best."

"It feels amazing, after 13 months being out it was the best feeling so far in my life to be back and winning as well," Nasri said.

He added: "The main goals are to be injury free and to play as much as I can, to give back to Manuel Pellegrini the chance he made me and the opportunity to be back in a competitive league."
