Manchester United robbed a 2-1 win against West Ham at Old Trafford on Saturday evening after three controversial officiating calls went the way of the home side.

The Hammers deservedly hauled themselves level in the second half thanks to Felipe Anderson's first goal of 2019 that cancelled out Paul Pogba's first half penalty.

The Frenchman then converted a second spot kick ten minutes from time to seal a scarcely deserved three points for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side as they kept up their pursuit of a top four finish and stretched West Ham's winless run away from home to seven games.

Snodgrass had been recalled to the starting eleven by Manuel Pellegrini after a stirring second half performance as a substitute against Chelsea five days previously but was in the thick of the action when he conceded the first spot kick at Old Trafford.

Pellegrini refused to tee off at referee Graham Scott after the game for the borderline, albeit wrong, call against his midfielder and after the game, Snodgrass himself revealed his thoughts.

"Obviously I don’t think the first one was a penalty, the second one some say it could have been offside," Snodgrass lamented.

The Scotsman made a clumsily effort at a challenge right on the edge of the box, replays couldn't definitively show it was inside the box and then on further review it appeared that United midfielder Juan Mata had kicked his own ankle and gone down with no contact from the Hammers midfielder.
