The midfielder penned a new five and a half year contract at the turn of the year with West Ham and he is signed on in east London until 2024 as the Premier League big boys sniff around, Manchester City in particular.

Rice's stock continues to grow in the Premier League having established himself as one of the outstanding youngsters in the division and even his odds to win young player of the year for this season in the league have been slashed.

Rice, who turned 20 on Monday, put in a star performance as the Hammers beat Arsenal 1-0 on Saturday as he swept home his first goal for the club on his 55th appearance.

Noble, who himself has signed a contract extension in the capital until 2021, has backed the 20-year-old to be a future captain one day at the London Stadium having graduated from the Academy to the first team.
