Manuel Pellegrini has insisted he has not taken a risk in signing Samir Nasri on a short term contract as the Frenchman was thrown a lifeline by hus former manager.

Nasri is set to be in the squad for West Ham this weekend as they face Arsenal at the London Stadium in Saturday's lunchtime kick off in east London and will be reunited with his former employers.

The Frenchman departed Arsenal in acrimonious circumstances back in 2011 and would go on to win two Premier League titles at the Etihad, one of them with Manuel Pellegrini as his manager.

From Arsenal, City bought him.
