West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini has admitted he is unsure if Marko Arnautovic will stay at the club after the striker appeared to wave goodbye to fans after being substituted during their win over Arsenal.

Intense speculation currently surrounds the 29-year-old's future at the club after his agent explained that he wants to leave the club to challenge for titles in China.

Arnautovic started Saturday's game against Arsenal but was hooked in the second period and appeared to bid farewell to fans as he exited the action.

Pellegrini conceded afterwards that the situation was out of his hands and chose to remain particularly coy when the subject was raised in a post-match interview.

'We will see what will happen in the next days,' he told Sky Sports. 'It's an issue, but the club must see what the best is for the club, for him and for everyone and I hope the club will make the best decision for everyone.

'I think we are very calm about the situation, but I don't want to talk about that because nothing is 100 per cent but we will see what the developments are over the next couple of days.'

The 29-year-old wants to move to the Chinese Super League this month to challenge for titles

The club have already turned down an offer in the region of £36million from a Chinese club, who are willing to pay Arnautovic £250,000 a week.

West Ham responded by telling him to honour his contract, which lasts until 2020.

The statement from Arnautovic's representative Danijel this week insisted his sibling would not go on strike to force through a transfer, but insisted his client wants to go to the Chinese Super League.
