The Italian giants announced on Friday that Allegri will be leaving the club at the end of this season.

A brief statement read: “Massimiliano Allegri will not be on the Juventus bench for the 2019/2020 season.

“The coach and the President, Andrea Agnelli, will meet the media together at tomorrow's press conference - Saturday 18 May, at 2pm in the press conference hall of Allianz Stadium.”

Frontrunner to replace Allegri, who is now expected to be a contender to take over at Paris Saint-Germain if Thomas Tuchel also leaves at the end of this season, is former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.

Several key members of the Juve board want Conte, who won three successive Serie A titles at the club between 2011 and 2014, to return.

However, his relations with chairman Andrea Agnelli are still strained after he left the club to take over the Italian national team.

Conte though, who has not worked since leaving Chelsea last summer and still has not settled his compensation, is also reported to have verbally agreed a move to Inter Milan.

Juve are also looking at Pochettino, who has steered Tottenham to the Champions League final against Liverpool after an impressive five years in charge – and current Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri.

Pochettino has also been a target for both Manchester United and Real Madrid, and has hinted he could leave if his side win the Champions League.

Pochettino said: “Winning the Champions League? It should be fantastic, no? Close the five year chapter and go home.

“It’s not a joke, why? To win the Champions League with Tottenham, in this circumstance, in this season, maybe I need to think a little bit to do something different in the future, for sure.

“Because to repeat this miracle, you know...But for sure I hope home. Whatever happens tomorrow, I go home.”

Chelsea are due to take a decision on Sarri’s future after the Europa League final against Arsenal in Baku on May 29.

Striker Alvaro Morata, on loan at Atletico Madrid, has said he does not want to return to play under Sarri at Chelsea: “I want to be here, I'm going to do everything I can to continue playing here.”

Chelsea will however be able to sign both striker Gonzalo Higuain and midfielder Mateo Kovacic, on loan from Juventus and Real Madrid respectively.

That’s the case even if their appeal against their Fifa transfer ban fails as both were already registered with the club.
