West Ham are reported to be closing in on the capture of Porto striker Moussa Marega - a year after initially trying to push through a deal.

The French-born Malian international has scored 17 goals in 38 appearances for the Portuguese giants this season and, according to fresh rumours from Portugal (via sports outlet Abola), has been the subject of a ?40million (£35million) bid from West Ham this week.

With Andy Carroll out of contract, Javier Hernandez considered likely to leave this summer due to a perceived lack of playing time and back-up striker Lucas Perez also available for transfer, Manuel Pellegrini could potentially be seeking to sign two forwards this summer.

However Pellegrini's attacking options look set to be boosted by Marko Arnautovic experiencing a change of heart and now looking likely to remain at West Ham beyond the summer, despite having sought a move to China during the last transfer window.
