Declan Rice has sent a message to fans of England the Republic of Ireland to explain his decision to submit a request to transfer his international registration in order to potentially represent the English national team in future.

He was named named Under-17 player of the year in March 2017.



The 20-year-old has three caps for the Republic of Ireland but he is still free to notify FIFA of his intentions to declare for England as these games were only friendlies.



Had he played in a tournament match of qualifier, he would have been tied to the Republic of Ireland.
