David Gold provides positive injury update on West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski

David Gold has provided an update on Lukasz Fabianski's hip injury.

The goalkeeper was taken off during the Premier League clash with Bournemouth with a hip injury, with the stopper being examined in the days after the incident.



However taking to social media, West Ham chairman David Gold confirmed that the stopper had undergone surgery which was successful.



He said: Just to update you all, the surgery on Lukasz Fabianski’s hip went as planned this morning in London.

There are a lot of reasons but the most important is that he is a very good goalkeeper."

Manuel Pellegrini spoke of the injury in the immediate aftermath, saying:"About Lukasz, the medical staff will decide today or tomorrow if he will have surgery or if he will recover without surgery.

He said: "When I arrived here to West Ham I saw how many goals they had conceded in the previous season, 68 or 67 goals.
