And Match of the Day pundit Jermaine Jenas has pinpointed one moment in the game when the 19-year-old midfielder's contribution was almost as important.



It denied the Arsenal striker a shot at goal and the former Spurs midfielder said it was a key moment in the match.

"This is probably one of the most important things he did in the game," he said, when analysing the game on Match of the Day.

"In the early stages of the game, Arsenal were playing pretty well, and he played a huge part in making the tide go in West Ham's direction.

That was in the first half, when Sead Kolasinac got in behind the West Ham defence and attempted to cut the ball back for Alexandre Lacazette to shoot, only for Rice to make the interception, allowing the Hammers to clear.
