Manchester United left-back Ashley Young is said to still harbour hopes of a move to Inter Milan despite the Italian team swooping for another player in the same position.

Inter look set to sign Roma's Leonardo Spinazzola with forward Matteo Politano going the other way- a deal which has cast doubt on Young's proposed move.

"He's been very, very good for this club, and he's been a very good captain this season, so let's see where we are in June – and February as well."

Speaking on the topic of Young, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said last week: "He's one of our players and our captain.

And according to the Sun Young thinks Inter are still interested in him, and is hoping the two clubs can agree a transfer fee in order for him to make the switch.

It was reported that Young's former teammate Romelu Lukaku rang him to convince him a move to the San Siro would be a positive one, and although the likes of Lazio are also said to be interested, Young seems to have his heart set on Inter.

Young has fallen down the pecking order at United this season, with Luke Shaw often preferred to him at left-back, and he has made just 12 appearances in the Premier League.
