The next generation of West Ham academy talent took to the field for England on Thursday at U17 level in the form of Amadou Diallo and Jamal Baptiste.

Both made their debuts for the U23s at West Ham aged just 15, Diallo doing so last season and Baptiste just a couple of months ago thanks to a bit of an injury crisis at centre half.

Representing their country at such a young age in two successive age groups is a clear sign the duo are going in the right direction and while both are some way off the first team for a few years yet, the Hammers need to be keeping their brightest prospects and with Diallo and Baptiste, they have two of the brightest around.

Both of them have burst on to the radar of Hammers supporters at different times over the past six months, with Diallo breaking through last season and Baptiste coming to the fore in this campaign.

He started the PL2 win over Brighton as well where the Seagulls couldn't find a way past him.

Same with Diallo.

Centre back Baptiste has emerged as one of the brightest prospects this season at Chadwell Heath when he too made his U23 debut against players who were eight years older than him.
